Infantino Lil Unicorn Explore and Store Gym

I honestly never realized how near and dear to my heart certain baby items would become. Not even in a sentimental way (that's another post entirely) but in an essential way. I could not accomplish half of what I do without a number of things.... but today we are talking about the Infantino Lil' Unicorn Explore and Store Gym.

Oh. My. Gosh. Guys, seriously. I honestly do not know if I would have purchased this for myself. While I was pregnant I didn't put much thought into play gyms, call me naive... I just didn't think they would really be that important or be put to use. So wrong. I have seen the error of my ways and thank sweet baby Jesus that my twin thought ahead. She purchased this jem for me as a shower gift and I couldn't be more grateful!

Elizabeth has been using this since she was one month old. She may have just been staring up at the toys hanging above her, but she still liked it. Now at almost five months old she is OBSESSED. It keeps her entertained long enough for me to do a load of laundry, wash dishes, edit a post or vlog.  It's a life saver.

This play gym is the only one we own right now, and it could quite possibly stay that way. It has three toys for her to play with, which I prefer over the mats that have a ton going on. Knowing my daughters personality, I fear she would become over stimulated and not enjoy something like that.  It's light, simple to quickly set up and takes up little space! Plus, it's so stinking cute. Who doesn't like unicorns?! (If you have a little mister, it also comes in another pattern. Perf, I know.)

No product is flawless. There are a few things I would change. I would make the actual mat thicker. I have carpet, so it's not a big deal. If you have hardwood floors you would definitely want to throw a blanket or two down underneath it, especially once your babe starts to roll.

The dome that suspends the toys is super light, which is great for travel. However once your child learns to grab, it's all over. Elizabeth pulls it down or kicks it over multiple times per play sesh. Again, not really a big deal as it's super quick and easy to fix.

Lastly I would change the support for the play gym. It has two green legs that support it and keep it upright. I wish they were slightly heavier to withstand my four month old and her desire to destroy things... but like I said earlier she grabs those babies and it's over. Obviously to keep this travel friendly it needs to be light, just a small thing that irks me.

Overall it's a great product and Elizabeth approved! We've been using it for months and I don't see us stopping anytime soon. It's widely available online, but I've included a link below to Walmart's website as it's the most affordable I've seen! If you decide to try this baby out, or have a must have product you would like to share, leave a comment!

Sleepless Weekend

I'm sitting in my recliner trying to write this post on my iPhone because I have an (extremely) light napper in my arms. And by light I mean if I exhale too loudly she stirs. The four month sleep regression is alive and well, y'all. After a week of fighting naps and I'm-going-to-pull-out-my-hair-where's-the-coffee early (early early early) mornings it's been a long almost two weeks.

Never fear! As all things, this sleepless period should be coming to an end. And speaking of ends, this past weekend was pretty good... despite the ever constant yawns and "I need a nap." By the saving grace of our Lord and Savior it was Brandon's long weekend. I say that because without his help I have no idea how I would have made it!

Friday started off with a doctors appointment for me, which I had to ditch early to rush to Chandler's preschool to pick him up. After an afternoon at the dentist we learned he needs a lot of dental work, and he's way more brave than most five year olds I know.

Saturday my mom decided she needed her "grand baby fix" so we dropped Elizabeth off... and sat in the car. Lost. Unsure of what to do with our brief moment of freedom. We decided a dinner date, just the two of us, was the way to go. It might have taken us three hours and half a tank of gas to decide what we wanted.... but I am still impressed by this Ultimate Fettuccine Alfredo.

We enjoyed a quiet child free evening at home. I went to bed at 10:00 pm. Rockin' out on the weekend, I know. But I needed a break from mom life. Sunday was family dinner and shopping with my loves, followed by an early night in. Again.

This post was supposed to be about surviving sleep regression and we ended up with a weekend recap. As it is, I hope you enjoyed! What did you do this weekend?

I kinda have to say.....time flies. It really does. I have fallen behind on all of my social media apart from Instagram, and there is a amazing reason for that.

On May nineteenth at 6:05 a.m. Elizabeth Juliann made her debut.

Labor was intense and her delivery didn't go as planned. But she is here and is now four months old! Can you believe it?! I am still planning on filming a labor and delivery story as well as posting it here. Honestly I'm still trying to get on a schedule and adjusting to life with a baby has been challenging. Her two big brothers are in love with her. It amazes me how good they can be with her and how easily they adjusted to her.

I can't wait to post regularly the mean time visit my other social media to stay in touch. I'm so grateful for everyone who has stuck around during this dry spell! 💜 I will see you all soon.
